We woke up at about 5am and started preparing ourselves while most of them were knocked out due to the all the boost they had the night before. Luckily I was spared. We rushed our way to Heng Ann just before 7am. Her parents were there while my dad and sisters came right after. When everyone was there, only we were able to go into the hall and ready for the events. They started off with the vow exchanging and signing of the certificate of marriage. Then, went to the top floor for some group prayers. They had a red ribbon which I had to wear it around me, probably for synchronization and also sort of Chinese culture. Next was releasing some balloons, sort of publicity kind of events. Not that well organised but still pretty cool, where all the couple is supposed to form a huge circle around the balloons, each holding a string to it, and releasing them all together. Then we were back in the hall and followed by a short fashion show by some bridal house ( being the sponsors ). Next was some "fun" activities for everyone.
1. Creative Proposal - The guy is supposed to come up with the most creative proposal to propose to his wife-to-be.
2. Kiss the bride - The most creative way to kiss your wife. The very creative ones got to show it on the stage. Too bad I'm not so creative.
3. Exchanging of rings
4. Toast to the couples
5. Eating chocolate - Not as easy as it sounded. The ladies will have the chocolate held with her mouth while the guys are supposed to slowly nibble every bit off.
6. Receiving the the certificate of marriage - Every couple goes on the stage to receive their certificate ( Like convocation, LoL )
7. Finally the group photo.
8. Lunch.
Although lunch was provided, but it was buffet style and everyone had to queue, so we skipped that and went to a restaurant which we've made reservation for lunch with friends and family members. It was indeed a long morning event. And thanks to all friends who've come all the way from everywhere to Melaka, and beloved family members and all the wishes from everyone. After lunch, some of her friends had to get back, so we sent them off, before heading back. Upon reaching, I was so tired that I just fell on the bed and slept till evening in my best attire. What a long day... ^^v
